Choices provides the developmentally disabled with the opportunity to uphold individual dignity while promoting a healthy, independent lifestyle.

 Choices is committed to the enrichment of life through full inclusion of individuals with disabilities into their community. Every person, no matter what their disability, is entitled to choose where and how they live their lives. It is our intent not just to provide the initial assistance required to assist individuals towards independence, but to provide the support necessary to help them through the many transitions in their lives. CTS’ services are based on the following principles: 

• All individuals have the right to choose where they live and how they live their lives.
• Individuals with developmental disabilities have the same needs as other people and have the right to participate in the community, have friends and support systems. 
• Individuals with developmental disabilities need to be able to make informed choices regarding the services and support they receive.
• All people have a right to the lifestyle of their choice.
• Services and supports need to be individualized to each person’s needs and be responsive as those needs change.

Learning comes from being at the forefront of new and unknown experiences. People with developmental disabilities should continually have opportunities to take risks and conquer new challenges. Risk taking is the ground for discovering and cultivating the power necessary to control one’s own life
