This past year, we asked ourselves, how can we serve the community and do it in a more impactful and robust way?

Earlier this year, we--the Family Resource Center of Truckee--, along with North Tahoe Family Resource Center, Tahoe SAFE Alliance, and Project MANA decided that merging into one organization would allow us to share resources and better serve our community. 

So, on July 1, 2019 we sunsetted the Family Resource Center of Truckee and a new regional entity emerged--Sierra Community House! 

As a new organization, we remain dedicated to providing critical assistance to families and individuals in need in Truckee, Kings Beach, Tahoe City, Incline Village and the rest of the North Tahoe area in the form of hunger relief, domestic violence/crisis intervention, legal counseling, immigration aid, and other services. 

Your support means so much to us and we are committed to keeping you informed.

What’s changing: 

We have a new name: Our new name, Sierra Community House, reflects our expanded regional scope rooted in our love of our mountain community and our core values as well as the results we aspire to with our services.  

We have a new mission: We connect and empower our community through family strengthening, crisis intervention, hunger relief and legal services.  

Our new Executive Director, Paul Bancroft, previously the Executive Director of Tahoe SAFE Alliance took the helm on July 1, 2019. Our new board, comprised of board members from each of the merging entities, will continue to steward Sierra Community House over the next year. 

Our services are consolidated. All of the services previously offered by each of the four organizations are now offered by Sierra Community House. 

What’s NOT changing:

Our commitment to serving our community. Community members will be able to access family support and community engagement, mediation and legal assistance, hunger relief and crisis intervention and prevention programs.
