Sierra Senior Services

Sierra Senior Services is the Meals on Wheels provider for Truckee and North Lake Tahoe. We deliver more than a meal — we deliver nourishment, safety checks, and human connection to older adults who can no longer shop, cook, or safely leave their homes, especially during our long and severe winters.

With the support of caring neighbors and dedicated volunteers, we provide nutritious home-delivered meals and meaningful social connection to seniors who are homebound, isolated, or facing hardship in our mountain community. Our routes span three counties — Nevada, Placer, and Washoe — reaching older adults from Truckee through Olympic Valley, Alpine Meadows, Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Crystal Bay, and Incline Village.

Last year, we delivered more than 43,000 hot meals and wellness checks — and the demand continues to rise. We are already seeing these numbers increase with current concerns around funding and the growing cost of food and basic necessities. This year, your support matters more than ever. Instability in federal food assistance and rising living costs have left many seniors unsure how they’ll get their next meal — making our services essential.
