$40,000 Goal

Just like forests regrow after fire, our organization is learning to adapt to change. Nature teaches us that resilience isn’t just about surviving—it’s about growing stronger in the face of challenges.

This year, longtime funding partners are shifting their giving processes, creating a gap we need to fill to keep our programs vibrant and accessible. Your support ensures that our students continue taking action, staying hopeful, and connecting with the natural world—no matter the obstacles we face.

That’s why we’re launching our fundraising campaign,

🌱 Nature Adapts, So Can WE. 🌱

with a bold, ambitious goal:

✨ Raise $40,000 by December 31 to keep our programs thriving and growing. With your support, we can continue empowering the next generation of stewards, adapt to change, and flourish—just like the forests, rivers, and ecosystems we cherish.

💡 Double your impact → Thanks to our longtime donor and supporter, Melanie Jackson, every gift you give from Giving Tuesday through Dec 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $20,000. Your generosity goes twice as far to help our programs grow, adapt, and inspire the stewards of tomorrow.

Every donation of $20 or more will be entered to win one of three fantastic prizes:

Prize Package #1:  The Black Ops Adventure — $1,260 Value

  • 2 Northstar Lift Tickets
  • Rossignol Black Ops Sender 102 Skis donated by Tahoe Sports Hub
  • SWEP Swag Hat

Prize Package #2: The Après & Adventure Bundle — $935 Value

  • 1 Northstar Lift Ticket
  • Patagonia Snowdrifter 20L Pack donated by Tahoe Mountain Sports

Prize Package #3: The Eco Explorer Kit — $100 Value

  • $20 Zuri Gift Card
  • Eco-friendly Stainless Steel Bento Box

Donate to Give Back Tahoe between December 2nd and December 31st and receive one raffle entry for every $20. You could win one of SWEP’s three Prize Packages! Winners will be announced on January 5th, honoring the supporters who make SWEP’s work possible.

A huge thank you to Melanie Jackson and the generous businesses whose in-kind donations make this raffle fundraiser possible!

Why SWEP Matters

Sierra Watershed Education Partnerships (SWEP) is a small non-profit with a big mission: to create a better world by educating and inspiring students to become lifelong stewards, future leaders, change-makers, and environmentally conscious citizens addressing the Climate Crisis—while fostering their mental wellbeing, resilience, and connection to the natural world.

This year, SWEP celebrates 31 years of promoting stewardship in the Truckee–North Tahoe region, having empowered tens of thousands of students to tackle environmental challenges, build confidence, and make a positive difference in their community, one project at a time.

Your Support in Action

Your donation directly supports vital, hands-on experiential learning for over 4,000 TK–12 students in the North Tahoe–Truckee region each year. SWEP programs nurture environmental awareness while supporting students’ mental health and wellbeing by connecting them with nature, sparking curiosity, and encouraging mindful engagement with the world around them.

Our programs focus on climate action and outdoor education, including sustainability, conservation, forest health, wildfire mitigation through defensible space education, climate science, watershed health and restoration, environmental career pathways, zero waste initiatives, and methane reduction through organic waste diversion—key components of a circular economy. Students engage in year-round fieldwork, participate in weekly Sustainability Clubs, and gain opportunities to explore the natural world in ways that reduce stress, build resilience, and cultivate a sense of purpose.

Your support ensures we can continue offering programs that integrate environmental science into real world experiences, empowering students to take meaningful action for the planet while enhancing their wellbeing, hope and confidence to make a positive impact in their community.

Supporting SWEP means directly supporting Climate Action.

This Giving Season, we invite you to foster HOPE, RESILIENCE & ADVOCACY through CLIMATE ACTION programming.

Together, we can make a lasting impact on youth and the environment!
