Tahoe Truckee Helping Hands

A nonprofit organization

$375 raised by 3 donors

Tahoe Truckee Helping Hands was founded in 2025 with a simple goal: to connect local volunteers with neighbors who need a little extra help. Inspired by conversations with isolated seniors, overwhelmed caregivers, and concerned community members, the organization began as a grassroots effort to provide rides, visits, and small home repairs to those who might otherwise go without. Within just a few months, it grew into a full-fledged nonprofit with four core programs: Medical Transportation, Grocery Store Trips, Volunteer Visits, and Fix-It Home Repairs. Each program is designed to support independence, reduce isolation, and foster connection.

Though young, Helping Hands has quickly become a trusted presence in the Truckee-Tahoe region. With strong partnerships across local government, healthcare providers, and fellow nonprofits, the organization is filling gaps in service with warmth, compassion, and reliability. Volunteers are the heart of the mission. From driving to a doctor’s appointment to offering a friendly check-in, their acts of kindness help ensure that no one in our community is left behind.
