The Tahoe Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus is dedicated to building, nurturing and promoting strong choral music programs within the community. The Chorus performs two annual concert series including an eclectic mix of music from major choral works to Broadway, madrigals, traditional folk, contemporary and, recently, an original production, the Truckee Historic Revue.
The Chorus supports youth vocal performance with annual scholarships for college bound students to pursue music education and the Truckee Tahoe Youth Chorus. Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus artistic, youth education, and community programs would not be possible without the generous support of individuals, organizations and businesses.
Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus is a dynamic and diverse community of individuals joined in their common love of singing and performing choral music. The 50-member group meets weekly at Sierra College, Truckee to rehearse concert music and learn vocal techniques under the direction of Susan K. Horst. The Diablo Valley College Symphonic Orchestra, under the direction of Dr Own Lee, joins TTCC for the spring concert series and a professional string quintet accompanies the winter concerts. TTCC also performs by invitation at holiday gatherings, farewells, military reunions, and church celebrations.
Since its creation in 2013 the Truckee Tahoe Youth Chorus has taught vocal technique, basic stage choreography, and music reading, and provided performance opportunities to nearly 300 Truckee youth. The Youth Chorus is taught by Ms. Horst through Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District with financial support from TTCC.
