The UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) plans to host a Youth Climate Summit for high school students in the Lake Tahoe Basin and Truckee region. This summit would be an interactive, high-energy conference that allows attendees to explore climate change science, impacts, and solutions. Participants would work in teams to design their own Climate Action Plans, which they could implement in their schools and communities.

We would host this program with the local school districts and the non-profit Sierra Watershed Education Partnerships. The goal would be to ignite youth-driven climate action in our community. Many people understand and are concerned about planetary health issues, but few translate their concerns into demands for change and meaningful action. We see an opportunity to contribute to a culture shift, moving away from silent concern and inaction toward widespread engagement with solutions.

Your tax-deductible donation will go directly toward supporting the planning and implementation of this summit, allowing students to take charge of their climate future.
