The Truckee Donner Railroad Society is a local non-profit dedicated to preserving the rich history and supporting the future promise of Truckee as a railroad town.  The Society operates the Truckee Railroad Museum in downtown Truckee, maintains the historical railroad equipment on public display in the "pocket park" in the new Railyard Development, and operates the Truckee River Railroad kids' ride-on train in the Truckee River Regional Park.  The Society also operates the new Museum of Truckee History in partnership with the Truckee Donner Historical Society.

Mission

The mission of the Truckee Donner Railroad Society (TDRRS) is to preserve, interpret, and educate the public about railroading life and history in the Truckee region including its contribution to Truckee and the nation. We will accomplish this through the acquisition, preservation, and restoration of relevant equipment and artifacts and the display of exhibits in our Truckee museums.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit institution EIN 91-1917864
