The Truckee Roundhouse  is a community-created, community-run, community-benefiting non-profit makerspace located in a renovated storage hangar at the Truckee-Tahoe Airport.  We find community in this space, amongst the tools we collaborate, learn and share our knowledge making us all better people and makers.  We share our culture of doing, up-cycling and help build a healthier community.

In our mission to support the teaching, learning, and practicing of a wide variety of crafts, skills, technologies, and arts in the Truckee-Tahoe community,  we provide the resources – tools and teachers and programs – in a collaborative environment for youth and adults so that all members of our community can explore their creative potential.

Since our opening in December 2016, we have been bringing community together, making a positive impact on education, youth development, and the arts.

YOUR GIFT SUPPORTS….

YOUTH & COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT

We provide high quality tools and instruction for youth and community groups to learn and create special projects in a safe and engaging environment.  Professionals and experienced volunteers mentor students in the joy of making something with their own hands; learn project design and teamwork, develop problem-solving skills, self-esteem and resilience;  exercise creativity to build custom projects; apply principals of math and science to real life situations.

OUR PARTNERS

We have provided affordable programming to educational partners: Creekside Charter School, Sierra Expeditionary Learning School (SELS), Sierra Continuation High School, Truckee River School, Creekside Charter School, Tahoe Expeditionary Academy (TEA), Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Sierra Watershed Education Partnership (SWEP), and more.

FINANCIAL AID

We offer need-based scholarships and subsidized memberships to the public, thanks to your  donations.

AFFORDABLE MEMBERSHIP

We strive to be an inclusive and accessible to all members of our community. The cost of living is high here, but private and grant funding keep our monthly membership rates affordable for all.

We ask for your support to keep our membership fees affordable.  To keep our space open and accessible to historically underserved and disenfranchised youth and other school groups.
