Giving Tuesday for Tahoe Truckee School of Music

#GivingTuesday is a global movement of generosity that is vital during these challenging times. Join us on Tuesday, November 30th for day dedicated to uplifting communities, empowering nonprofits, and celebrating kindness.

The Tahoe Truckee School of Music is a 501(c)(3) non-profit music school serving our community since 2009.   We build life skills in our students, including confidence, empathy, team-work, self-expression, risk taking, language and math skills, craftsmanship and creativity, by mentoring, teaching, inspiring and coaching the youth of our community in the musical arts. Students eligible for the TTUSD “Lunch Program” are eligible for 50% scholarships from the Tahoe Truckee School of Music.

As a result of COVID-19, the Tahoe Truckee School of Music has been negatively impacted in the following ways:

1)    Cancellation of our regular fundraising events.

2)    Lost students who were unable to transition to on-line lessons.

3)    Lost students whose parents have lost their jobs.

4)    Lost revenue for our instructors and the School due to the cancelled lessons.

5)    Lost School revenue due to cancellation of weekly group classes

6)    Lost revenue from our music booking service due to live music cancellations
