At the Truckee Roundhouse, creativity isn’t just an idea—it’s something you can hold in your hands. It’s the hum of the plasma cutter, the glow of a ceramic kiln, the rhythmic tap-tap-tap of a hammer in the woodshop, the satisfying whir of a laser carving a dream into being. It’s a 4,860-square-foot makerspace packed with possibility—and a community that has turned this once-empty hangar into the beating heart of creative life in Truckee-Tahoe.

And now, we’re ready to grow.  Big time.

Why Expand Now? Because Creativity Here Is Exploding.

In 2024–25, our community showed up in force:

• 10,269 volunteer hours—donated by 252 unstoppable volunteers
• 352 active members building everything from furniture to robots
• 9,789 class, member, and community visits, up 17% from last year
• Partnerships with 16+ educational and nonprofit organizations, serving 648 students—a 41% leap in youth engagement
• 24 free workshops for the community, drawing 367 enthusiastic learners
• 750 pounds of materials saved from the landfill through Fix-It events
• 20% of kids’ camp students attended on scholarship, with $7,475 awarded

Truckee Roundhouse has become a hub where people of all ages discover skills, confidence, and connection. And honestly? We’ve outgrown our home—in the best possible way.

The 2026 Expansion: More Room. More Makers. More Magic.

We’re expanding from 4,860 sq ft to 6,950 sq ft—a transformative leap that will elevate every shop, every program, and every creative journey inside our walls.

Because the wheel-throwing waitlist is getting out of hand… in a beautiful, muddy way.

✅ Upgrade safety, air quality, and workflow across all shops

Better dust collection, ventilation, and tool layout means a safer, smoother experience for every maker.
